From tomorrow onwards my new fitness regiment will include:

  • Get up at 4am
  • Run 10kms
  • Do 100 push up
  • Do 100 Squats
  • Do 100 Abdominal Crunches
  • Do 30 minutes Stretching
  • Meditate for 30 minutes

And then begin my day Healthy, Wealthy & Wise.

Day 1

The Alarm clock rings at 4am

  • I get up excitedly
  • Struggle for 2 kms…
  • Manage 37.2 pushups
  • Suffer through 23.78 squats
  • Hardly manage to do 31 abdominal ‘somethings’
  • Find myself unable to stand up, let alone stretch
  • Collapse on my chair for my 30 minutes meditation

And now I start my day, Miserable, Mangled & Morbidly tired

Day 2

The Alarm clock rings at 4am

  • I get up in slow motion
  • I barely walk for 500 meters
  • I manage 17 pushups — well if moving the hips up and down is called push ups
  • I squat to do my first squat and prefer not to stand up
  • For my abdominal crunches, I lie down wondering what am I doing
  • For my stretching, I am still lying down
  • And for meditation — I accidentally fall asleep

And now, I am late for my office feeling F**kall, F**king Miserable & F**ked

The Alarm clock rings at 4am.

  • I throw the alarm clock out of the window and it breaks into 5 pieces.

Lets first analyze the following:
How many can you do:
How many I you do from today:

ACTIVITY 1
Maximum distance you have run? 1km
So from today onwards you will run — 20 steps

ACTIVITY 2
Maximum number of push up you can do easily? 20 push ups
So from today onwards you will do — 3 push ups

ACTIVITY 3
Maximum number of squats you can do? 27 squats
So from today onwards you will do — 3 squats

ACTIVITY 4
Maximum number of abdominals you can do? 37 crunches
So from onwards today you will do — 5 crunches

ACTIVITY 5
How many minutes have done stretching till now? 15 minutes
So from today onwards you will do only 3 stretches — any 3.

ACTIVITY 6
How many minutes have done meditation till today? 20 minutes.
So from today onwards you will do 5 minutes

NOW MOST IMPORTANT THING AMONG THEM ALL….

You will choose ONLY 3 ACTIVITIES to do.

Only 3?
Yes.
Only 3 and that too — you will do ONLY the minimum as requested.

So now you end up choosing

  1. Walk 20 steps
  2. Complete 3 Push ups
  3. Meditate for 5 minutes

Isn’t that easy?

Strangely enough — you will do each and every repetition and you will give every minute its true value.

  1. Quality is more important than Quantity
  2. You will succeed all the time, if you make sure that your goals and targets ARE EASY.
  3. If you set your standards too high — you will end up doing nothing.
  4. Don’t paralyze yourself with Perfection.
  5. Do small bits everyday instead of doing nothing
  6. Something is better than nothing — even 1 is better than 0.
  7. Consistency & repetition is the key to growth
